Why? Ah, I’m not really familiar with the different meanings of a name. My parents probably just liked that name, I don’t know if they put a lot of thought in the meaning. Though I’ve heard that Matthew means “Gift of the Lord”, which makes me kind of happy. I’ve also been called ‘Matthiue’ at times. The French version of my name.[/blockquote]

As for my occupation. I’m still in college, but that’s not my main focus in life. I play ice hockey a lot, and I’m really good at it, if I may say so myself. I’d like to develop my abilities further and become a professional. But trainings are expensive, so I needed a job besides my studies to pay for them. Though at first nobody would hire me because of my age or lack of experience. But now I’ve finally found a job.
I-it’s not what I had been hoping for, but… well, I really need the money and I wouldn’t be hired somewhere else. It’s not like I enjoy…

I like maple syrup, doesn’t matter what I eat it on but pancakes are my favourite. I’m fond of nature as well… polar bears are amazing animals. I’ve got a plushie of a polar bear. It’s really old, I got it sometime when I was a kid. Oh, and the first snow of the year is always beautiful.

People often forget about me. Or they mistake me for my brother. I really don’t like that. I mean, we’re not that alike, right? Okay, maybe we look a bit like each other, but on the inside we’re completely different people. It’s as if people think I’m less fun to hang out with. Also, I don’t really like it that I wasn’t able to get a different job. This place is not really what I was hoping for when I started job hunting. Though it could’ve been worse. I could’ve just ended up jobless, or having to work on… that stage. I just hope they don’t ask me to do that in the future. Because it can be a bit exciting to work here. Just the costumes they make me wear are a bit… embarrassing.
You sometimes see people being pushed around by others, me being one of them I guess. I don’t like that either. When people are rude, or bully other people. We were all born on the same planet, we should try to live with each other the best we can, in my opinion.

I’ve been raised to be kind and polite to everyone I meet. I can be a bit shy sometimes though. But once you get to know me it should be alright. I don’t get angry a lot. Or not noticeably at least. I can be mad at someone for doing something I don’t like, but I don’t like to hurt people’s feelings, so I mostly keep it to myself. I can hold grudges sometimes because of this. Though at the times someone really manages to get me angry, I’m not above knocking someone’s lights out.
Sometimes people think I’m weak, because I dislike fighting. But I can assure you that all my hours of hockey practice have paid off. I may not be the most muscled one on the field, but I’m not the less muscled one either. Just because I don’t show it off (like some people) doesn’t mean I’m not strong!

I’ve grown up together with my maman and papa. They’re kind people, really. And they’ve been good parents to me. I was sad when I had to move out, and I think they were too. Specially since I’m not really that old yet. But I have to learn to stand on my own feet sometime. I still call them every once in a while though, because I’m afraid they’ll forget about me.[/blockquote]
Besides that I also have a brother, Alfred. I often get mistaken for him, even though we act really differently. While I’m the more quiet one, he always seems to be full of energy. Maybe he has ADD or something. He’s really good at annoying me. Though he’s my brother, and I still love him. When he’s not annoying me, we get along quite well actually.

My favourite memory is probably the first time my team won with hockey. I was pretty young back then. Maybe it’s a silly thing to have as your favourite memory, but it meant a lot to me that I found something that I can be good at.

My worst memory? That’s when I moved out of house and went to live on my own. It didn’t happen that long ago either. It was a bit hard for me to be on my own all of a sudden. Learning how to look after yourself is always hard I suppose. Though I’m alright now.[/blockquote]

I’ve got some experience with that on other RPs, so sure, why not? ^^[/blockquote]Matthew walked through the crowded bar, carrying a tray full of drinks. He had only started this job somewhere earlier in the week. It wasn’t ideal, but it was better than nothing. While other waiters easily carried trays on their fingertips, he still had to hold the tray with both hands. Else he would certainly lose his balance in the crowd and spill the drinks over a customer.
He carefully manoeuvred himself between the bodies of the customers before he reached the right table. The men at the table were already long drunk, laughing loudly at some joke one of them made. Matthew carefully put the tray on the table. “Here you go, sir.” He said in his quiet voice. He wondered if the guys had heard him, since they didn’t react to him at first. But the drinks always managed to get the customer’s attention eventually.
One of the guys thanked him with a pat on the shoulder, keeping it there for a while. Matthew just smiled at him, but actually really wanted to get away from the table. Sometimes the customers tended to get a bit touchy when they had a certain amount of alcohol. He turned around to walk away, relieved as the man’s hand left his shoulder. Though when he started to walk, he felt a small pinch in his backside. Matthew immediately quickened his pace while repressing a shudder. Fucking perverts.
